Jeevan Trust

Jeevan Trust is a charity that has been established to support people unfamiliar with services that are available to them as residents in the United Kingdom, having come to live and work in UK.  We are based in United Kingdom (UK). This is a free one-to-one service. We will listen, care and support you. We will try to speak with you in your language (Malayalam) if possible.
This is a generic information helpline only, not an emergency service. If you have any specific questions pertaining to your health condition, please contact your registered general practitioner via the surgery, ring 111 during out-of-hours for non-emergency medical management. You should always call 999 if someone is seriously ill or injured, or you feel their life is at risk.

We are a motivated and enthusiastic team of, nurses, general practitioners, hospital specialist doctors, social workers, lawyers (solicitors) etc, who are eager to help you. Collectively we have the experience and expertise to give advice about your situation.
Our main goal is to provide both education and awareness on domestic abuse and its impact on families. We are hopeful to raise knowledge on this subject within our community on the legal implications, safeguarding concerns and effect on children

Our vision is to provide information and increase the understanding, to those who seek help from us, about issues that come up when they live in UK. These are issues like, how to access health services through primary care and secondary care (hospital) and social services, legal expertise etc… We aim to support individuals and families with needs like counselling, relationship issues, family problems including domestic abuse.
Our volunteers are experts in various fields, which enables us to signpost in terms of medical, mental health, safeguarding (adults and children) and social concerns. In particular regarding domestic abuse, we help individuals involved to identify the signs of abuse, and guide them to use the available resources to resolve issues.
We are committed to maintaining confidentiality in all your discussions with us on this helpline. The only exception is where statutory laws and regulations makes it mandatory for us to inform other professionals. We will confirm with you, if the issue that is raised would lead to such an exception.
We respect your right to choose not to continue with this service, if that is what you would wish to do once you speak with us.

How to access GPs and primary care services in UK?

General Practitioner (GP) services are at present, free for people who come to live and work in the United Kingdom. At present this is true for visitors like parents as well. Therefore, anybody may register and consult with a GP WITHOUT charge. It is important to register with a General Practitioner in your local area.
